Learn how to:

  • Understand the basics of what a heat pump does and how it does it
  • Conduct heat loss surveys
  • Size an ASHP system

 

The course covers Heat loss calculations and surveys, Heat Pump theory and installation, Solar Thermal fundamentals, and support to those who wish to gain MCS accreditation

The course is held online over 2 days online held on each Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday/Thursday in October

 

By the end of the course candidates will:

  • Know the relevant regulations/standards and requirements relating to practical installation, testing and commissioning activities for heat pump installation work
  • Know how to survey a property in order to produce heat loss calculations, design and dimension a heat pump system
  • Know the health and safety risks and safe systems of work associated with heat pump system installation work
  • Know the types and application of heat pump systems
  • Know how the performance of a heat pump system is measured
  • Know how to apply for MCS accreditation

  • Non MCS accredited installers (plumbing and heating companies) wishing to add heat pumps to their portfolio and become both MCS accredited and Trustmark registered

The course is heavily subsidized by BEIS with a nominal charge to candidates of £45 including VAT.
