Course Details

This is a starting point for joining the industry to get qualified to become a certified Gold ECS Card holder.

Who is it suitable for?

This is the ideal course for those who have no experience of the industry but would like to either change career or train to become a fully qualified commercial and domestic electrician.

•  Candidates need a grade 4 or grade C in English and Mathematics although this is not essential

What the course covers

The Enhanced Electrician Course is carried out at the candidate’s pace and can be completed in approximately 18 months.

  • 2365 Level 2 Electrical Installation

  • 2365 Level 3 Electrical Installation

  • 2382 18th Edition Full Course

  • 2391-52 Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection

  • 2357-46 NVQ

Who is it for?

This suite of City & Guilds qualifications are targeted at students who have no previous electrical knowledge but would like to have the opportunity to be 1 of the 25,000+ electricians needed in the industry right now earning up to £100,000 a year.

Assessment and exams

  • 2365-02

    • 201 Health & safety in building services engineering (practical/theory). Includes a multiple-choice exam and practical assessment. 

    • 202 Principles of Electrical Science (mostly theory-based). Includes a C&G online multiple-choice exam.

    • 203 Electrical Installations Technology (mostly theory-based). Includes a C&G online multiple-choice exam.

    • 204 Installation of wiring systems and enclosures (practical/theory). Includes a practical assignment and additional questions. 

    • 210 Communicate with others within Building Services Engineering (practical/theory). Includes a C&G online multi-choice exam. 

  • 2365-03

    • 301 Understand the requirements of environmental technology systems (mostly theory-based). Includes online multiple-choice exam.

    • 302 Principles of Electrical Science (primarily theory-based). Includes a written assignment and practical tasks.

    • 303 Electrical installations: fault diagnosis and rectification (practical/theory). Includes a written assignment and practical tasks.      

    • 304 Electrical Installations: Inspection, Testing & Commissioning (practical/theory). Includes practical tasks and written paper.

    • 305 Electrical Systems Design (practical and theory). Includes a practical assignment and a written paper

    • 308 Career awareness in building services engineering (primarily theory-based). Includes one written assignment.​

  • 2382-18

    • It is assessed through a C&G online multiple-choice exam (open book).​

  • 2393-10

    • ​Consists of a 40 minute online exam which is assessed through C&G. 

  • 2391-50

    • Initial Verification of Electrical Installations multiple-choice online exam

    • Initial Verification of Electrical Installations practical assignment
